Tin Shed Theatre Company are launching their new placemaking project, ‘The Last Post’, which investigates their current home at the old post office (where The Place now lives), and the famous nighttime economy of the Ritzys nightclub.

We are seeking graphic and visual artists to design a bespoke series of postcards that will be available at The Place as part of the Last Post project.

We would like the postcards to be inspired by NEWPORT and consider the idea of the traditional postcard; visiting a location and sending something from your travels. Rather than this being about the building, we are open to concepts looking at the destination of Newport. 

Artists can apply for £500 to cover their time to design one or more postcards, with all intellectual rights to this reserved to the project and Tin Shed Theatre Company once designed and printed.

In addition to this, we ask that artists complete a review and evaluation of their experience on this project following its completion. This will be via a meeting or online form which asks questions about the process, findings and experience of working with Tin Shed Theatre Company.

• Postcard dimensions are A6, which measures 148 x 105 mm (5.8 x 4.1 inches). Designs need to be created to suit this size, and templates will be provided for successful applicants. 

• We are seeking a single-sided design (i.e. artists must design the front of the postcard, rather than the back which people write on)

• Once complete, postcards will need to be sent to Tin Shed Theatre Company in PDF format with a minimum DPI of 300
